A Survivor's Story for Holocaust Remembrance Day

By John Walters on Tuesday, April 9, 2002.

Stephan Lewy is a retired business executive who lives in Manchester. As a child, he lived through the persecution of the Jews in 1930s Nazi Germany. In 1939 his family sent him out of the country for his own safety, and he lost touch with them for more than two years. They managed to reunite in America in 1942. Then, in 1943, he was drafted into the US Army. Stephan talks about his experiences during and after the war. He can be reached at shlewy@aol.com.
