The President’s New Plan for Iraq

By Laura Knoy on Thursday, January 11, 2007.

Last night, President Bush put forth his strategy for success in Iraq... the so-called “surge” option of thousands more troops to stabilize the country. But many Democrats say just the opposite approach is needed, that it’s time for the U.S. to pull back from Iraq. We’ll look the President’s policy – from a military and political point of view. Laura's guests are Bill Martel, Associate Professor of International Security Studies at the Tufts University Fletcher School of Diplomacy; Wayne Lesperance, Associate Professor of Political Science at New England College; and Jeremy Pressman, Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Connecticut, Research Fellow at the Crown Center for Middle East Studies at Brandeis University and Co-author of the book “Point of No Return: The Deadly Struggle for Middle East Peace”. We'll also hear from U.S. Senator John Sununu and 2nd District US Congressman Paul Hodes.
