Two Rescued In White Mountains On School Hiking Trip

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department says a student and an adult on a school hiking trip needed help after suffering medical emergencies on a trail in Sargent's Purchase.

The group from Jesse Remington High School of Candia was hiking the Glen Boulder Trail on Thursday.

Conservation officers say a 911 call came at about 1:30 p.m. A 14-year-old girl had suffered from an unknown medical emergency. Rescuers from multiple agencies responded in the rainy, windy weather and carried her out over slippery, rocky terrain to an ambulance at around 6:30 p.m. Her condition wasn't immediately known.

Also, 47-year-old Debora Beattie was hiking down ahead of the rescue crew when she fell on the slippery rocks and fractured her arm at about 5 p.m. Paramedics administered first aid.
