Two Berlin Federal Prison Inmates Sentenced For Assault

Via BOP.gov

Two inmates at the federal prison in Berlin, New Hampshire, have been sentenced for punching, kicking, and stomping another inmate that was caught on videotape.

Prosecutors said that the two attacked the inmate in May 2017 and didn't stop when they were ordered to. Only after they were threatened with the use of pepper spray did the attack end. The injured inmate suffered cuts and bruises to his head, eyes, and ears.

The inmates, Leonard Johnson and Robert Dales, had pleaded guilty to the assault. Johnson, who was sentenced in 2006 on another crime, was sentenced to year for the assault. Dales, who was serving a sentence on a bank robbery charge, was sentenced to 10 months for the assault.

The sentences are to run consecutively to their present terms.
