Survey: Perception Of New Hampshire Economy Unchanged In 2013

After an improvement from 2011 to 2012, the perception of the New Hampshire economy has remained relatively unchanged over the past year.

That’s according to the latest Business and Industry Association Report on Consumer Confidence, conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center.

When asked how Granite State businesses will do over the next year, half of those surveyed said businesses will have financial success. Those figures are consistent with views prior to the 2008 recession.

Meanwhile, views among New Hampshire residents about the state of the U.S. economy long term remain pessimistic.

Only 30 percent of those surveyed believe the U.S. economy will enjoy good times over the next five years.

And 43 percent said they expect period of widespread unemployment and depression.
