Senator Jeanne Shaheen has introduced legislation to put abolitionist Harriet Tubman on the $10 dollar bill.
The legislation was referred to the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs yesterday.
The Treasury Department announced last month it would put a woman on the $10 dollar bill in the year 2020.
Shaheen had introduced legislation in April to put a woman on the $20, but the Treasury chose the $10 because it had already been scheduled for a redesign.
