Manchester voters will consider whether Keno should be played within its city’s borders this Fall.
The city’s aldermen voted late Tuesday night with little debate to put the question to residents on the city’s upcoming ballot.
Under the new law, money made from this electronic bingo game will go to fund full day kindergarten programs statewide. According to the state lottery commission, Manchester will see 1.3 million in education dollars in fiscal year 2019.
Communities that don’t approve Keno will still see an additional $1,100 per student for full day kindergarten programs.
Several other cities such as Nashua and Keene are currently considering Keno; meanwhile, officials in Franklin and Concord have already approved it as ballot questions.
