The Senate Judiciary Committee voted along party lines Friday to advance Judge Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court to the full Senate.

The 11-10 vote puts a possible Senate vote on schedule for Tuesday, at the earliest, though Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona voiced concern over the nominee and called for a delay until the FBI could investigate allegations raised by Christine Blasey Ford that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her nearly 40 years ago.

Flake suggested he could not promise to support Kavanaugh for a confirmation vote.

Other swing votes in the Senate: Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine.
