Word of Mouth

A few years ago, violin virtuoso Joshua Bell set up as a busker at D.C. subway station. The former child prodigy whose concert performances command hundreds of dollars made less than fifty bucks that day. Joshua Bell doesn’t play it safe. He’s been called a “classical music rockstar” with 40 albums to his credit ranging from solos to movie scores.
It has been a busy year for Joshua--he recently wrapped up his first year as music director at the academy of St. Martin in the Fields, where he plays while he conducts, and his first recording as a conductor is out this month.
Joshua Bell will be playing the Music Hall in Portsmouth on Friday March 1st, where he will be accompanied by pianist Sam Haywood.
