How North Country Reps Voted On Casino Gambling

North Country reps were about evenly divided on whether to allow casino gambling, but the division wasn’t along party lines.

As NHPRreported on Wednesday the House again rejected casino gambling, killing SB 113 by a vote of 208 to 156.

Governor Maggie Hassan visited House Democrats before the vote to urge their support.  The Governor has long favored allowing one casino but last week said she would sign off on two casinos as long as the second casino was built only after a review.

Here are North Country reps who voted in favor of casino gambling:

* Edmond Gionet, Republican, of Lincoln

* Linda Massimilla, Democrat, of Littleton

* Leon Rideout, Republican, Lancaster

* Robert Theberge, Democrat, of Berlin

* John Tholl, Republican, Whitefield

* Yvonne Thomas, Democrat, of Berlin

Here are the North Country reps who voted against casino gambling:

* Brad Bailey, Republican, of  Monroe

* John Fothergill, Republican, of Colebrook

* Susan Ford, Democrat, of Easton

* Alethea Froburg, Democrat, of Berlin

* Erin Hennessey, Republican, of Littleton

* Wayne Moynihan, Democrat, of Dummer

* Larry Rappaport, Republican, of Colebrook

Here are the North Country reps excused from voting:

* Rebecca Brown, Democrat, of Sugar Hill

* William Hatch, Democrat, of Gorham

* Herb Richardson, Republican, of Lancaster
