Governor Hassan Picks Jeffrey Rose To Head DRED

Governor Maggie Hassan has announced her pick to lead the Department of Resources and Economic Development.

Governor Hassan will nominate Jeffrey Rose to be the next DRED Commissioner during the Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

Rose, a resident of Goffstown, is the Public Affairs Director for BAE Systems in Nashua. He’s been with the company for nine years. Rose also served as chair of the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce.

Rose previously worked for prominent Republican politicians such as Congressman Jeb Bradley, Congressman John E. Sununu and Senator Bob Smith.

Democrats presently hold a 3-to-2 majority in the Executive Council, which must confirm Rose before he can begin working as DRED Commissioner.

Rose’s Predecessor George Bald retired last fall. Bald is set to begin work as interim chief of the Local Government Center this week.
