Cruz-Trump Feud Heats Up Over Iowa Accusations

Campaigning in Goffstown Ted Cruz said that Donald Trump is "losing it" because he can't handle having been beaten in the Iowa caucus. Trump has alleged Cruz stole his win in Iowa.

Trump's allegation, made on Twitter, was that the Cruz campaign's caucus-day circulation of a CNN report that said Ben Carson was returning home to Florida and wasn't campaigning in New Hampshire and South Carolina amounted to "fraud." On that basis, Trump called for Cruz's win in Iowa to be nullified and the election done over. Speaking to reporters at the Trestle restaurant, Cruz said Trump is proving himself unfit to be President.

Here's one of Trump's tweets:

"We need someone with judgment and the temperament to keep this country safe," Cruz continued. "I don't know anyone who would be comfortable with someone who behaves this way having his finger on the button. We're likely to wake up one day and Donald, if he were president, would have nuked Denmark."

Cruz also defended his campaign's decision to circulate the CNN report, which he said was factually accurate. Cruz said his campaign could have later clarified that Carson was not quitting the race, but that he was not firing or punishing any of his staff for their failure to do so.
