Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley spent Monday campaigning in New Hampshire with stops in Manchester, Bedford and Rindge.
At the RiverWoods Retirement Community in Exeter, O'Malley took questions on gun control, immigration -- and even one, from resident Monty Scharff, about how to boost his name recognition.
“What are you going to do to compete against some of the unworthy candidates that you are campaigning against?" Scharff asked. "You have to get your name up there, you have to get some speed going, and I don’t think you have done it too well so far."
But O’Malley says his support is growing -- slowly but surely.
“One national poll says I was the first choice of 7 percent of Americans last week, and that, my friend, is a 700 point improvement," he joked.
O’Malley will be back in the Granite State Sunday to join his fellow Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders at the state party's Jefferson-Jackson dinner in Manchester.
