AG Says Hooksett Man Shot Wife to Death, Then Himself

New Hampshire authorities say they believe a man fatally shot his wife in the head at their home, and then put a gun to his own head, killing himself.

Attorney General Gordon MacDonald said that police arriving at the Hooksett home Thursday afternoon found a written will in the room where the couple was found.

MacDonald said Friday an autopsy showed that 68-year-old Diane McLaughlin died of a gunshot wound to the head and that it appears her husband killed her. It also showed that her husband, 58-year-old Donald McLaughlin, apparently killed himself by shooting himself in the head.

MacDonald said no further information was expected while the investigation and final toxicology testing continues.
