As I listen to the program

As I listen to the program this morning, I think we're missing part of the point here. We want people to stay in their homes and not be forced out by taxes. If the NH tax base was something other than real estate, the people who's house is appreciating faster than their income (almost everyone) would not be facing 100% increases in their property taxes. I don't have a second home, but the taxes on my first home have doubled from $2400 in 1993 to $4800 in 2005. I live in Nashua. It must be even a greater precentage for folks living in the north country.
