It's a term we hear all the time, and a question cities and towns in New Hampshire are continually asking: As we grow, how do we grow smartly? But defining smart growth isn't easy, and actually doing it is just as hard. In our fourth installment on growth, we ask the questions what is smart growth, what is sprawl, and how well are towns and cities doing in planning for a growing population. Laura is joined by Jeff Taylor, former director of the Office of State Planning and president of Jeff Taylor and Associates, Chris Wells, Policy Director at the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests and Dick Anagnost, Chairman of the Workforce Opportunity Council and President and CEO of Anagnost Companies.
