For a long time, the Northern New Hampshire lagged behind the rest of the state economically, but now with a new prison, new high tech firms, and one-time closed lumber mills opening up many are seeing hope in the great white North. Today on the Exchange we'll look at the North Country where it was, where it is and where it's going. Laura's guests are Trish Anderton, NHPR North Country correspondent and freelance journalist living in Berlin. Edith Tucker, Reporter for The Coos Country Democrat . Bill Andreas, Vice-Chair of the Androscoggin Valley Economic Recovery Corporation and Executive Director of the Business Enterprise Development Corporation. Brien Ward, an attorney and former state representative living in Littleton and Founder of the Littleton Economic Development Task Force and Larry Rappaport, owner of a high-tech firm in Colebrook, chair of the Colebrook Board of Selectmen and a board member of the Colebrook Development Corporation.
