The National Low Income Housing Coalition has released their annual report on the lack of affordable housing in the country.

And once again, New Hampshire finds itself near the top of the list when it comes to the high cost of rent.

NHPR'S Mark Bevis has more.

Web resources:

THE NATIONAL LOW INCOME HOUSING COALITION SURVEY NAMES NEW HAMPSHIRE THE TENTH MOST EXPENSIVE STATE TO LIVE IN.

THAT'S BELOW MASSACHUSETTS AND CONNECTICUT, BUT ABOVE MAINE AND VERMONT.

THE SURVEY LOOKS AT THE WAGES ONE NEEDS TO MAKE TO AFFORD RENT AND UTILITIES FOR A MODEST, TWO BEDROOM APARTMENT.

AND IT FINDS THAT IN NEW HAMPSHIRE, A HOUSEHOLD NEEDS TO MAKE MORE THAT 16.75 AN HOUR.

LINDA COUCH IS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF THE COALITION.
