The state's Judiciary has released a new plan to set up a new family court system.

A pilot program has been in place for several years in Rockingham and Grafton counties.

And now the courts want to take the system statewide.

NHPR's Mark Bevis has more.

The new Family Court will hear a variety of cases from divorce and child custody to juvenile delinquency and domestic abuse.

Judge Ed Kelly is the Administrative Judge of the District Court and a proponent of the new system.

He says the new system will better address the needs of families.
