In the time right before WWII, tension was rising in the world, in part, because a fascist dictator was coming to power in Spain. Though the United States did not officially participate on any one side of that conflict, many American men volunteered to assist Spanish rebels. George Watt was one of those young men. While he was away, he and his young bride Ruth exchanged letters frequently, documenting not only their relationship, but the political climate of the time. Recently these letters were found by their son, Daniel. He, along with his wife, Molly and a couple musicians have put together a CD of George and Ruth's letters as well as the popular music of the Spanish Civil War.
