The transition from elementary school to middle school is a challenging one for adolescents. Kids from different social and economic groups come together for an experience that can be both agonizing and exciting as they enter a whole new world of learning. Laura's guest is Donna Marie San Antonio, a lecturer on education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and co-director of the Appalachian Mountain Teen Project. She is also the author of "Adolescent Lives in Transition: How Social Class Influences the Adjustment to Middle School".
