Well talk to Nancy Hanger about her book, Lupus: An Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed. Nancy says that a diagnosis of Lupus is no longer a death sentence, but just getting that diagnosis can be a frustrating experience. As a rheumatologic illness, Lupus is often amorphous and displays itself in seemingly unconnected ways. On top of that, it appears mostly in women and is often though to be all in her head. As a Lupus patient herself, Nancy talks about she learned to keep her life going strong.
