The Federal Election Commission has released campaign finance figures for the first half of this year.

And for the first time in more than a decade, Democrats are outraising Republicans.

Presidential challenger John Kerry and his Democratic party have raised just over 290 million dollars, 20 million more than President Bush and the GOP.

And as NHPR's Mark Bevis reports, the Granite State is following suit.

Republicans still hold a good financial lead over the democrats, but almost across the board Senator Kerry and the various Democratic Party committees have out-raised the GOP the past six months.

Most of the money democrats are raising is due to the efforts of Massachusetts Senator John Kerry.

He's collected about 160 million dollars since January.

That compares with about 95 million dollars President Bush has been able to pull in.

She says New Hampshire Democrats and undeclared sympathizers are keeping up with the national trend.
