A lot more than just a children's toy, Barbie first appeared on the store shelves in 1959, since then the slim waisted, high arched doll has taken on hundreds of roles from cheerleader, to rap-star to astronaut. She's courted, dated and left her main man Ken. And has forever changed the way we think about dolls and ourselves. From her sordid beginnings to her superwoman incarnations, we'll look at the wonderful life of the Barbie doll. Laura's guest is M.G. Lord, author of "Forever Barbie: An Unauthorized Biography of a Real Doll".
