Bishop Gene Robinson: One Year After His Election
By John Walters on Monday, June 7, 2004.
On this day, last year, the Epsicopal diocese of New Hampshire, including priests and laypeople, voted to name Gene Robinson their next Bishop. And Robinson would become the first openly gay man to become a Bishop in the Episcopal church worldwide. The decision shook the church. Parishioners, priests, and even whole dioceses threatened to leave, and a few made good on their threats. The leaders in the Worldwide Anglican Communion feared disintegration. A year later, very few of those fears have been realized. And as Bishop Robinson told NHPR's John Walters, the church is not only surviving, it's thriving.

Having just read Mr. Robinson's comments from the today show, I am sad to say he is wrong. No he does not deserve the death threats and he is right that we as Christians should exemplify God's love but homosexuality is a sin. Mr. Robinson's examples of clothing and seed are in the old testement, not to be dismissed but were crucified on the cross with Jesus and should be studied in the Hebrew for further clarification. The scripture in Romans clearly states that homosexuality is a sin. Man being with man and woman being with woman is an abomination to God. God called us to share the gospel with the world and multiply. If everyone in the world were in a homosexual relationship this world would end. I pray that Mr. Robinson not be given over to a reprobate mind and that through the Holy Spirit he will receive revelation and clarity on the sin in which he is committing and leading others to in this end time.
