The Department of Health and Human Services released some disturbing health statistics today.

The number of people with sexually transmitted diseases is rising in New Hampshire.

NHPR's Mark Bevis has more.

More than 25 diseases are sexually transmitted.

The state Department of Health and Human Services tracks only four - syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

And the incidence of reported infection of all but gonorrhea has risen in New Hampshire... some more than others.

Dr. William Kassler is the medical director of HHS.
