It wasn't two weeks ago that most analysts were writing Senator John Kerry off as a serious contender in the Democratic primary.

He held a very distant second place behind former Vermont governor Howard Dean.

But that turned around last week.

And the Massachusetts Senator won the day yesterday in the state's primary.

New Hampshire Public Radio's Mark Bevis has more.

POLITICAL SCIENCE PROFESSOR DANTE SCALA HAS BEEN STUDYING NEW HAMPSHIRE'S DEMOCRATIC PRIMARIES FOR YEARS.

HE'S EVEN WRITTEN A BOOK ON IT...TITLED STORMY WEATHER.

HE CHARACTERIZED SENATOR KERRY'S WIN LAST NIIGHT AS STEAMROLLING THROUGH NEW HAMPSHIRE.

AND HE SAYS KERRY'S MARGIN OF VICTORY LAST NIGHT WAS THE HIGHEST SINCE DUKAKIS TOOK THE STATE IN 1988.
