The Senate has begun week two of its debate on the long-awaited energy bill, and among the many controversial issues to be discussed is an amendment that would establish a so-called "renewable electricity standard."

The measure would require power companies across the country to get ten percent of their electricity from renewable energy sources, like wind, sun, and wood, by the year 2020.

The amendment has split the New Hampshire delegation - Senator Judd Gregg supports it but Senator John Sununu is opposed.
