The Old Man of the Mountain is no more.

The natural stone profile that symbolizes the State of New Hampshire has fallen off the side of the mountain in Franconia Notch.

Governor Craig Benson says he's committed to restoring The Old Man of the Mountain. He said he will open a revitalization fund to raise money for the restoration.

Reporter Trish Anderton was in Franconia Notch and described the scene to NHPR's Mark Bevis.
