A new report gives New Hampshire below average grades for getting food assistance to residents who need it.

The report was release by the Food Research and Action Center.

Doug Hess was a co-author of the report.

Hess tells NHPR's Mark Bevis that despite the low grades, a smaller percentage of people in New Hampshire are going hungry compared to national averages.
