Women Flock To Feminist Camp

By Stephanie Hughes on Tuesday, June 15, 2010.

For most of us, summer camp brings back hazy childhood memories of canoeing, bonfires, and whiffle-ball games. Feminist summer camp is different.

For one, it’s held in New York City. Two, the campers are college-age women from around the country. And thirdly, they’re interested in learning what it means to be a feminist today, in their personal and professional lives. The camp wrapped up this weekend.

Producer Stephanie Hughes tagged along with the group to see what a crash course in feminism looks like.
