The mystery has been solved.

The thousands of green balls that washed up on the seacoast are not man made.

In fact they are pretty common sight for some.

It's just that a Hampton Union reporter, a marine biologist and a number of fishermen had never seen them before.

Ellen Goethel is the scientist. She described the big seacoast mystery to NHPR's Mark Bevis.
