Liberal Arts MBA

By Virginia Prescott on Thursday, January 28, 2010.

The seismic downturn in the global economy over the past 16 months has caused some soul searching among business school educators and administrators. Prominent B Schools at Stanford, Harvard, Yale and UVA are now re-evaluating their programs. Some are tweaking, adding or requiring courses to develop multidisciplinary perspectives, understand historical context and strengthen skills in problem solving and social responsibility.

A leader in this effort is the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. We read about Roger Martin, Dean of the Rotman School, in the New York Times and wanted to find out more about his goal of creating what he calls a "Liberal Arts MBA."
