Martial Arts Builds Leadership on Chicago's South Side

By Avishay Artsy on Thursday, January 14, 2010.

The civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

A martial arts program in Chicago's South Side teaches similar principles. Learn self-defense to avoid violence, and help the community for a greater sense of self. This year, the program will offer scholarships to 10,000 low-income children across Chicago. Word of Mouth producer Avishay Artsy dropped by for a lesson.
