National Parks Prepare for New Handgun Law

Earlier this year, Congress passed a law legalizing concealed and openly carried handguns in national parks in a piece of controversial legislation.

Gun advocates argue that firearms will make parks more secure. Opponents say that accidents and animal poaching are likely to rise. The law doesn’t go into effect until next year, but as Grace Hood reports from Rocky Mountain National Park, the summer crowds are already asking questions.
