Word of Mouth

Today on Word of Mouth, while Washington wrestles with a health care plan, some pharmacies are opening on-site clinics for a small fee. We’ll find out how a drugstore chain is creating its own built–in market, and a growing model for universal health care. We’ll also talk to a reporter who spent five years with Long Island gang members, documenting the victims of a violent culture. And, U.S. astronauts looked out of the Appollo rocket four decades ago for a first glimpse at the earth, an image that helped spark the global environmental movement. Plus, a new project challenges writers to invent the stories behind random thrift-store objects. And two side-projects from well-known indie bands provide our summer soundtrack.
