Better Living Through Advertising

Taking a scan of the globe, there is plenty to grumble about. Economies are still deep in what’s now being called the great recession, the Earth is heating up, war and conflict continue to rage.

So why not take this advice, courtesy of a British ad for the Volkswagen Passat?

Images like this are becoming more common in an advertising trend that our guest Ingrid Fetell calls joywashing. Ingrid is a designer, brand strategist, and market researcher based in Brooklyn. She blogs at Aesthetics of Joy which is also the name of her forthcoming book.
