Whither Evangelicals?

In the last eight years evangelicals enjoyed immense political power. Polls say that between a quarter and a third of Americans identify as evangelical Christians. One religious blogger created an online firestorm with a series of articles predicting the collapse of the evangelical movement as we know it.

Michael Spencer has blogged for eight years under the name Internet Monk, and has been a Baptist minister for 30 years. He's currently campus minister at a Christian school in southeastern Kentucky. Michael recently contributed an op-ed for the Christian Science Monitor in which he lays out the doomsday scenario in the next decade. He joins us now to talk about the future of evangelicals.
