Child Poverty Statistics Show Worrying Trend in NH

The U.S. Census Bureau has just released 1998 poverty statistics for each of the nation?s 3,141 counties.
The numbers for NH show an increase over last year.
The highest rate, 17.4% was in Coos County.
Rockingham County had the lowest at 7.3%.
Candace Leonard is Director of Research and Policy Analysis with the Childrens Alliance.
She speaks with NHPR?s Lisa Peakes about the statistics.
