Here's a news flash for you – you can find a lot of strange, wonderful things on the Internet. One of them is Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, and it’s the brainchild of Joss Whedon, the television writer and producer behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the new Fox series Dollhouse.

Whedon earned himself a rabid cult following with his television shows, but he’s one of many producers who’s finding the internet to be an ideal outlet for his work. A breed of high-quality, inventive programming has begun to emerge online, and we have the perfect guy to take us through the cream of the crop. Writer David Kushner recently published a list of the best web serials for RollingStone.com, and he joins us with some recommendations.
