The Wine For Every Season
By Virginia Prescott on Wednesday, December 10, 2008.
For many people, the enjoyment of wine is inhibited by rules, real or imagined, about the enjoyment of wine. Figuring out what one should drink with filet mignon, how to appear savvy when tasting a bottle, or which glass to use for pinot grigio makes people feel less than adventuresome, and even mildly oafish.
Tyler joined us in the summer to talk about the environmental and economic benefits of boxed wine. We’ve been awaiting his new book A Year of Wine: Perfect Pairings, Great Buys, and What to Sip for Each Season. It’s a month-by-month guide to selecting, tasting, and enjoying wine 365 days a year. Tyler Colman joins us on the line to explain why seasonality matters for wine. (Photo by Víctor Nuño) About usWord of Mouth is all about what's new.
