A Missile Base Called Home
By Virginia Prescott on Thursday, November 13, 2008.
The cold war may be long over, but its nuclear missile bases and silos still stand, reminders of a frightening time in American history. Many of the bases are now empty, but maybe not for long. A peace activist-turned-real estate agent in Kansas buys and sells decommissioned underground nuclear missile bases and silos. His name is Ed Peden, and many of his clients turn the bases into homes. Ed even raised his family in one. When producer Eric Molinsky heard about the Peden’s home, he had to check it out.
