Mitt Romney made two stops in Manchester campaigning for first congressional district Republican candidate Jeb Bradley.

Romney says he’s known Bradley for a long time and believes he’s the candidate that will protect jobs in New Hampshire.

“People want to know who will actually be able to prevent economic calamities and who will be able to create more jobs, and that’s why I think Jeb Bradley is successful in his campaign because he’s able to connect with people, he’s a small businessman, he knows what it’s like and that’s going to be the issue that drives home a winning campaign.”

The latest UNH poll shows Democratic opponent Carol Shea-Porter widening her lead over Bradley.

But Bradley says he doesn’t rely on polls, noting that polls showed him winning the first district seat two years ago.

Romney also stumped for Republican candidate Jennifer Horn in the 2nd congressional district.
