Robert Rowe is a retired judge and current member of the state legislature. His first novel, Quest for Liberty, is set in Rowe's hometown of Amherst, New Hampshire. It tells of two men pulled in different directions by the Revolutionary War. One is an American soldier and the other a loyalist to the crown. Both are real figures from the state's history. Rowe says he found out a lot of interesting things about Revolutionary War era New Hampshire while doing his research.
