Blogger Leaves Shea-Porter Campaign After Palin Remarks

By Josh Rogers on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.

A Carol Shea Porter campaign staffer has resigned over comments she posted on a political blog about Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin and her children.

In a weekend posting on the PolitickerNH website Shea-Porter campaign blogger Susan Bruce wrote that the Alaska Governor was using her infant son Trig, who has Down Syndrome, as a prop on late night TV.

She went on to accuse the Alaska Governor of putting a scarlet letter on the her pregnant daughter Bristol and throwing her to the wolves.

GOP chairman Fergus Cullen responded by calling Shea-Porter to fire Bruce from her campaign.

"A paid spokesperson for Carol Shea-Porter - she represents her boss, Carol Shea-Porter. And this calls into question Shea-Porter's judgment."

In a statement announcing her resignation, Susan Bruce admitted the postings were in poor judgment, and said they were not made on Carol Shea Porter's behalf.
