From Telluride to the Seacoast
By Virginia Prescott on Monday, September 22, 2008.
Since then, some winning independent and foreign films have jumped directly from premieres at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado to screenings at The Music Hall of Portsmouth, giving New Hampshire audiences a rare chance to see movies that haven’t yet shown in New York. Last year’s films included Into the Wild, Persepolis, and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Last week we offered a preview of the festival. Today, Word of Mouth contributor Garen Daly is here with a review of a few of those films - Happy-Go-Lucky, Helen, and O'Horten. Garen is host of the Frugal Yankee website and radio show, which can be heard live on WNTN in Newton, Mass. About usWord of Mouth is all about what's new. Online and on-air, the show looks at our fascinating and ever-changing world, and puts the latest ideas under a microscope. Word of Mouth investigates everything from science and technology, to health and the environment, to new trends in popular culture. The show airs Monday through Thursday at noon and is hosted by Virginia Prescott. Contact usSay what you want to say. How you want to say it. We want to hear from you.
