Obama Outlines Tax Plan in Dover

By Josh Rogers on Friday, September 12, 2008.

Campaigning in New Hampshire today Democrat Barack Obama promised to lower taxes for most Americans.

New Hampshire Public Radio's Josh Rogers reports.

Obama told an invitation-only crowd at a Dover community center that the economic policies of John McCain are identical to those of the Bush Administration.

The Illinois Senator then laid out his own tax proposal before ending with a commitment.

"And I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase - not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."

Obama said John McCain can't make that same pledge, but Republicans say Obama's stance is contradicted by past votes as a senator and by earlier campaign trail comments.

McCain Is A Sleazy Liar

In running the sleaziest campaign since South Carolina in 2000 and standing by completely debunked lies on national television, it's clear that John McCain would rather lose his integrity than lose an election.

McCain Keeps Sinking To Even Lower Levels

Its amazing that so many people have this righteously high opinion of John McCain, and its mainly because of his 5 years as a POW 30+ years ago. Doesn't anyone look at the man since then? Does the "Religious Right" feel good about his admitted 6 years of adultery, his marrying a 17 year old Cindy Hensley when his divorce wasn't even final, or that he was 18 years her senior at the time? Is this Jerry Lee Lewis all over again? Or does anyone even care that his political ethics were questioned when he was charged as a member of the Keating Five scandal in Washington? As a grunt drafted in 1965, I watched friends... even a high school buddy... go home in an aluminum box. John McCain suffered... but he got home, walked off the plane, and now he doesn't even know how many houses he has, and he wears $600 shoes. I'd give a limb to have my buddy Joe alive today. He died in another war that we had no business being in. We don't need another Bush in the White House looking to bomb/invade Iran. We've done enough damage to our reputation by being responsible for the deaths of over 250,000 Iraqi men, women, and children who were non-combatants.

But fast forward to right now and look at the caliber of commercials he's running. He keeps saying that it didn't have to be this way (smears and lies) if only Senator Obama went along with his (McCain's) request that they do town hall meetings around the country together. Are you saying, John McCain that this is a spite campaign? It sounds like he's using commedians like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity as his campaign advisors because they are the experts of taking bits and parts of just about anything Senator Obama says or does and twisting them into out of context lies and smears.
