In the wake of Tuesday?s terrorist attacks, air travel has been severely disrupted. The two and a half day suspension of all flights has cost carriers an estimated 300 million dollars, and left citizens scrambling for alternatate travel modes. NHPR?s Josh Rogers spoke with some of those affected by the delays at Manchester airport.

Despite those discouraging words, by late this afternoon, US air announced it would be offering three flights out of Manchester. Airport manager Kevin Dillon says that came only after the airport had met new FAA standards?.but even so, he says things are still far from normal.
And additional napkins. Pierre Massura manages several of the restaurants at the airport food court says travelers looking won?t any longer have the luxury of using even plastic cutlery.

Massura also says food deliveries will now be subject to searches as rigorous as any carry on bag.
Nor were things easy for taxi drivers. They passed the afternoon with cigarettes and chitchat outside the terminal.
The car rental scene, however, was bustling. (bite)???..The clerks at Dollar rental said they?d seen a steady stream of fed up travelers willing to pay top dollar.
Airport officials say there?s no way to predict how long it will take before regular flight schedules resume??In the meantime, a traveler enroute to Rome said all travelers should heed a dicta she acknowledged borrowing from Hemingway?...
