What Are You Doing Right Now?

By Vanessa Valdes on Wednesday, June 4, 2008.

Depending on what your life looks like at 10:15 a.m., the new photoblog Ten15am is either a nice dose of escapism or an assurance that yep, other peoples' lives really are as mundane as your own.

The blog, a collaborative social experiment of sorts, asks participants to post an image of whatever they're doing at 10:15. The photos come from as near as New Jersey and as far afield as Australia, Turkey and Honduras, and they're often captured via cameraphone. Not surprisingly, morning for many looks like coffee mugs, cats and commutes. But more off-the-wall mornings include a toilet left on the side of the road and what appears to be a dissection in progress.

For the cubicle-bound voyeur, it's a fun peek into someone else's business. But for the aspiring photog, it's also a nice opportunity to give yourself a plug -- posters' blogs and website links are archived on the site.

Of course, there's a ton more where this came from. Fans of the blog may also want to check out Where We Do What We Do, where people post photos of their workspaces, or Out My Window NYC, which is exactly what it sounds like.
