New Releases From M83, The Last Shadow Puppets
By Virginia Prescott on Tuesday, May 6, 2008.
It’s not unusual for musicians to look to the past for inspiration. During the 1990s, we heard a lot of pop bands take a shot at recreating the sounds of the '70s, and over the past several years, more and more '80s influences have made their way into new releases – both on the pop charts and in the electronic underground. Our resident new-music watcher Bill Slammon joins us to give us his impression of two new albums that take their lead from decades past. Bill hosts the show Saturday Morning on WVEW in Brattleboro, Vermont.
